i think the drivers side door lock is messed up on my 96 discovery i cant lock it with the key from the outside and when i lock them and then shut the door they unlock. Is this common and how much would it cost to fix?

Its a safety device thatyou cant lock and thenshut the door. Why? So you dont lock your key in the car.
