Default "Harrods" Edition Range Rover Up For Auction

Historics at Brooklands will be auctioning off a rare 1983 "Harrods" edition Range Rover. Worth £38,000 in 1983, it's expected to go for £30,000 when it goes up on the auction block later this month.

It never ceases to amaze me how people can take an elegant and practical design and turn it into a nightmare in the name of fashion.

In a way it kind of reminds me of the family truckster from the movie "Vacation"

Spent $1000 on colored bulb lenses and it still looks British.

X1.

That truck looks hideous and certainly not worth £30K and it may well sell for double at auction.

I owned a Y reg RRC of the same year and sold it for £150 rather than sort out the issues. It was blue and looked as good as that monstrosity.

I love the old carbureted Range Rovers. My favorite Land Rover out of the many dozens I've owned will always be my '85 5 speed.

As an aside, that photo is taken near Bosham Harbour, near Chchester, West Sussex. It's an extremely rich area of the UK.

They couldn't re-wrap the steering wheel before putting it up for auction?
