Default How many here are vaccinated poll

Just out of curiosity about the group members here who are or not vaccinated
I’m personally not. Don’t care much for vaccines or doctors myself
I know even my local rover group requires you to be vaccinated to attend a monthly meeting held on a patio lol
wheeling alone I guess

I got mine, and it seems like everything is gradually returning back to normal in the state where I live in. I am still careful though because the battle against the pandemic is not yet over.

I'm a Biologist for my day job. Followed the science closely from beginning to now. The new mRNA vaccine method (which has been worked on for 20 or so years) is really a game-changer when it comes to vaccines and vaccine production. Plus the delivery technology should allow for treatments of other diseases etc. Even though the vaccine is only ~90% effective at preventing illness (which is really really good) it is 100% effective against a severe case, that is enough for me.

Natural Antibodies here, wife just went and got her Moderna shot last week because she wants to go on a cruise. She has been against the shot since all this started, but she just changed her mind suddenly....

I however find it hilarious how you must be vaccinated, they still test you for Covid before boarding, and the entire boarding/deboarding process = mask required at all times. On the ship you can finally take it off.... Then once at your destination mask are required at all times except swimming/eating. To me personally that does not sound like a fun vacation. I'd rather be out in Moab off roading with no one around me for miles.

Covid isn't going away just like the flu isn't going away.

My 5G reception has improved significantly since I got jabbed, my vaccination passport is an NDP membership card, and I now crave tofu.

I think Covid is going to be with us for a long time. My good friend's dad has been in the hospital here for 3 weeks now with the Delta variant. Her mom also has it and is recovering at home. They are both in their early 80s, were vaccinated locally this past Spring and haven't traveled at all. He, hopefully, will be able to go home soon (albeit on oxygen). My friend asked me to let everyone know that Covid is real, to wear a mask and stay protected even after getting the vaccine.

My husband and I have had the shot. Personally, I see it as one of many ways to help ward off Covid, but it's not perfect. Please, if you're able, get the vaccine.

In all seriousness, it will be interesting to see how vaccination numbers & behaviours affect the delta and other looming variants transmissibility and impact. Just looking at the survey results, 90.9% (as at today) is pretty good. I read the other day some folks got fined significant amounts for using false vaccination credentials at the US / Canada border.

There is no actual test to show which Covid variant you have. The test will come back Positive for Covid, but you will likely never know what strain you have. With that being said the news pumping out Delta positive results of Covid popping up all over the place = sadly over-rated as like I said there is no easy way to show which strain you have without a TON of research/lab work done per person and they are NOT doing that.. Covid is here like the Flu is here, and you can get vaccinated to help you get over it quicker, but nothing is going to totally ever stop you from getting the Flu or Covid at the moment.

Seeing people crawling back into their homes, cars, or walking around outside miles from anyone with a mask makes me sad. On a daily basis anyone could be killed by far more things than Covid alone. Drunk drivers, robbed at gun/knife point, a car accident, fall off a ladder, electrocuted, heat stroke, drown, yada yada yada. I prefer to live my life and enjoy each day.

As long as there are human beings on this earth humans will continue to be born, and humans will continue to die. No way around it!
