Put a Rover in the picture. Yours. Go this weekend. Space available. No reservations needed.

But some park areas will be closed due to brainless twit politicians engaged in political theater in Washington. Plan your routes, with possibility of visits to new boneyards and fewer antique stores if possible.

There's lots of pretty places in the great state of Texas. And let's not forget the fabulous food along the way, no calorie counting permitted on road trips. BTW, an inverter and plug strip keep all the electronics packed by passengers charged up.

But people have been having fun on road trips for a long time, and sharing with friends. Back in the Model T era, the Ford Times was full of pictures sent in of cars in all sorts of places. It had a circulation of 2 million when my great grandpa was the editor. Rovers North send out pretty pictures in their publications, it is not all about hose and gaskets, Rovers are even more fun when not being wrenched on.

I love all the pix our members share of places and problems.

we will only see that little ugly strip of texas, headed north east, but sound advice^. I turned the 2nd row into a mini Imax and the way back into an econo kitchen, yesterday. at least, the driver will enjoy the scenery.

see Cooper Lake State Park

Don't have to go far. Like the idea of "check out Ranger packs" for the kids. Gets them to focus on images produced before there were pastimes produced from pixels.

Because you can't drive or walk through the woods without the government.

Well, let's think about this... they had to "close the government," but law enforcement is still in effect, mail is still being delivered, taxes are still being collected and, of course, war operations are not suspended until further notice. In other words,
WORST APOCALYPSE EVER!

The ones who are working (essential staff) are not being paid until it is over. SWMBO goes in every day but no check in the mail. On top of 11 days of un-paid furlough earlier this year to balance the DoD books.

Maybe if we elect more accountants and less lawyers (they git paid by da word) ....... and make them all play by the same rule as the White House - two terms, and go home. Right now it is like "Coach, keep me in the game! I haven't kicked a field goal in 16 years, but I know I can do it!" We put the elected team in the game, and we keep sending the same ones back over and over.
