while i dont like the commander, i had a loaded GC in college, and it was great...

 

disco 1+2 = exelent of road
disco 3 = unbeatable off road
freelander = fair off road
range rover = exelant off road
range rover sport = exelant off road

AND all land rover models are Permantant 4 wheel drive, unike anyother 4x4 brand.
and where have land rover got there reputation from....... being the BEST off road

the LR3, unbeatable, wouldent say that, I know my D1 for a fact will tear up on an LR3, and the D2's have even better clearnce stock. but I do like your point...

Discovery vs Grand Cherokee = Body-on Frame vs Unibody= Tank vs tin can Discovery kicks *** jeep's suck nut's
LR3 vs jeep commander = strong vs weak and strong *** vs candyass
Discovery vs Hummer H2 and H3 = steak vs hot dog meat =real 4x4 vs poser 4x4

commander and both hummer's are soft *** dog nut's SUV
Discovery/LR3 will whoop both of their fat asses off road and in build quality plus hummers and commander's = plastic bodies with rip off frames from other candy *** suv's

 

the one good thing about the jeeps, when stuff breaks, theyre cheaper to fix...
