Default Lame alarm system?

I live in a fairly upscale apartment complex with shared outdoor parking. Had these 2 pesky kids kick a soccer ball twice against my Land Rover's passenger door today. Alarm never went off.

I expected it might go off. Is this a sign of a shoddy alarm system?

Shoddy meaning from Brit?

System/BCU not programmed for and no sensors to detect bumping on the D2.

Ah okay. Good to know.

Still, even so... the Landy still beats the American cars I owned. Man, those were pieces of junk!
