I could never justify spending that much on a toy. I understand that they are highly detailed and function but they are not practical. Most of us have enough to worry about keeping our real trucks up to spec. To each their own I guess.
Yes, to each their own. If I couldn't afford it, I wouldn't buy it. But I can and I enjoy the RC hobby. I would never spend $3000 on a scale excavator though! I did not even know that existed. Not a good example either as that is far from the cost of what you see here. It's a hobby much like our real Land Rovers. I would argue that most of the mods we do to our real trucks aren't practical, some mods we do aren't really even needed. And they are usually expensive. But we like to do it, so we do. I posted this because I thought some of you would like to see this since it is LR related, not for a critique on why this is an expensive and impractical hobby.

Golf is expensive and impractical also.....

I know of at least one other person here who has built a rc4wd D90 and would love to see some more pictures of it posted in here.

Thanks for looking!

Hey man your right and honestly I was not trying to hijack your thread or bash you for doing something you enjoy. I hate when people do that to me. Just a coincidence that right before reading your thread here, I was on the RC website feeling flabbergasted by the price of that excavator RC, so reading your thread I just had to vent a little bit. But yeah your right, many of the other models including the Land Rovers sell for around $400 give or take. I did not know there was a nitch for adult RC toys either lol.

On a positive note Im impressed with the level of detail the creators have put into these little RC toys. Very cool indeed. Perhaps if they made functional RC battleships that float and have operational guns then I would find myself glued to this hobby to ^^

Speaking scale models, I actually just purchased my first scale model collector piece. A WWII Imperial Japanese Navy Battleship known as the Yamato. She was the largest battleship with the largest guns with the thickest armor and capable of shooting shells the size of volkswagens 25 miles. She was a monster and it took over 400 planes and over eleven torpedoes and six bombs to sink her! So I decided to by a 31113 1/700 scale model of the ship.

One day I will probably buy a 1/350 scale model.

In any case very nice RC build you have man and thanks for sharing.

That is SUPER COOL !! And super detailed looking too. How long is the parts list for one of those? I used to build plastic model kits as a kid in the 60's but they were not nearly as realistic as your D90.

So I ended up with this Savage 4.6 Nitro buggy. Of course I'm now trying to track down a 1:8 scale Land Rover....preferably a RRC, but would work with a Disco...

Anyone know of such a thing?

Looks like HPI used to make a D90 body....but I'd rather have a RRC or Disco....

Back when I was wee, my dad used to build model kits and detailed them pretty nicely as well.

I remember he built the 1/350 scale Yamato. It was pretty damn awesome to 5 year old me.

(cool story bro )
