Default The last time a Republican won the White House...

without a Bush or Nixon on the ticket was 1928!

I don't know about how other Americans think about this fact but I was astonished.

Ahem, George Bush was the Veep.

It's been 84 years and 21 Presidential elections since a Republucan Presidential ticket hasn't won with a Bush or Nixon on the ballot. Herbert Hoover won in 1928. Nixon was Eisenhower's Veep in 1952 and 1956. He won the Presidency in 1968 and 1972. Bush was Reagan's Veep in 1980 and 1984. He won the Presidency in 1988. His son won in 2000 and 2004.

Explain your leap in logic. My post was merely an observation. Perhaps one could extrapolate and make the observation a comment on the shallow talent pool in the right wing but that wasn't my intention.

In many countries a politician quite often is the same material whatever the party. If they can't get into the party of their choice they'll often switch to the other parties. Some, but not all. Some actually believe in public service and their chosen party and not totally motivated by money, power and position.
