I'm looking into investing in a 2 post asymmetrical lift for my garage. Does anyone have advice? I've got about 12' of head room and would like to be able to stand up under the LR (my tallest vehicle). TIA

 

Don't know if you will get it up high enough to stand under it or not. My dad picked up a lift through Costco of all places good price including set up.

 

X1 ............... unless you stand 1.75m or less it's unlikely you'll stand upright. Allow 1.9m for a standard D2 less roofrack and 12' = 3.65m and assuming you lift on the frame allow 20cms for the lift arms and rods that only leaves around 1.75 to 1.9 metres max. It's going to be a tight fit in the garage. I use a 4x poster drive on type in my barn and that's a tight squeeze in between the horizontal rafters.

Be careful if you go for a two post lift as many cars and trucks have fallen off of them as there is no restraint and it'll crush you if it happens as it relies solely on the rubber pads gripping the frame. If you go for a used lift ensure you see it working before they dismantle and remove it.

Costco is the sh-t. Its amazing how much crap you can buy through them besides of what is actually on display.. Mind me asking what yer pops paid for his setup or ball park? Costco's warranties are most excellent.

 

I'm going to try and grab one from one of the many Sears Auto that are closing around me. I'll let you all know how it goes..

 

I'll double check with him was a few years ago but I want to say it was around $4.5k
