did you know that you could run pretty much any diesel on corn oil?

Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England.
As quoted on another thread, I pay the equivalent of nearly $5.95 USD per USGal for Regular Unleaded, every three to four months, but normally run on AutoGas/LPG, which is a Butane/Propane mixture, at approximately $2.82 USD per USGal.
Did you know you can run a TD5 on a charged mixture of LPG/Diesel at approximately 70%/30%, and get a power increase of around 20%?
It's what gets fitted to some Land Rover Diesels over here.

$2.16 for 87 octane, add $.08 for each step up in octane. $2.24 for diesel.
at our participating fina stations, every tuesday you can buy premium for mid-grade price. i usually fill up on tuesdays. it is funny on those days, people won't notice the price on the sign and fill their car up with mid grade when they could get premium for the same price.

The Corn oil, or diesel made from Oil Seed Rape, yes, worth doing and it will be coming online int he UK very soon. Several new processing plants are been built at the moment, and the government here is going to tax the fuel a lot lighter, making it approximately half the cost of mineral diesel. It is a greener fuel, (does not produce the large particulates, and produces the same CO2 as what the plants removed from the air in the first place) it gives slightly better miles per gallon. Land Rovers are also well suited to running the fuel, and no problems are been reported so far from people using it in the UK. (some have been using it for a few years now...)

I ment don't run your diesel on corn oil or any other cooking oil for that matter. Yea it works but not good and makes a big mess and it even is not good on your engine. I school we tested this to see the effects and if it would work as an altertanitive fuel, well yea it work but not worth it, we ended up building an electric car for our project.
