Both those phones were above my budget. After much seriouse debate and tons of research I opted for a "Unlocked" HTC 4G Inspire smartphone. It has a micro SD slot, GSM carrier compatible so I can use it with Walmart StraightTalk and it has a large screen ideal for watching videos. Hopefully it holds up and performs well. Thanks for the tips guys.

Before my wife came over to the brighter side of life (apple powered home) she had a few HTC phones. Every one was fairly indestructible and all worked well. I think you'll be happy with your decision.

Coming from a blackberry and then iPhone, I alternated between those and then tried Android on an HTC. Liked it, but didn't love it. So I went back to iPhone for a minute until Motorola Atrix came out. Then I upgraded to the Atrix 2. Three days later the Atrix HD was announced. I love it. Does everything you want and more. Paid $99 for the phone in exchange for a 2-yr contract renewal.

I have the unlock code, just waiting for my contract to be up. Then I'm ditching at&t. Rooting the AtrixHD is now pretty simple...

Well today smart phones are more popular specially the android based phones... I am also a smart phone user. Yeah using the Samsung Galaxy SIII. But they introduced the S4 which have more features. Well my favorite phones are Galaxy S4, iPhone 5, HTC One, Nokia Lumia 800.

I'm sure a a lot of people aren't aware, but as of Jan 2013 unlocking a phone any way other than via your carrier violates the DMCA and is a felony subject to 5 years in prison and a $500,000 fine, doesn't matter if your contract has expired.. If a phone company decided to prosecute that is, which is probably unlikely, but still good to be aware of.
Gotta love the cell phone carries.
Luckily my wife and I unlocked ours last Dec so no worries here.

That type of regulation and legislation is frequently the result of considerable campaign contributions. Probably makes it easier for NSA (aka the Puzzle Palace) to keep track of us. But lawyers may eventually get it turned aside, after considerable exspense. You couldn't plug in something you didn't get from the Bell System, until the Codeaphone decsion....
