Do any of you guys participate in Sand Yachting? I have taken this up over the past two years and it's a real hoot on a blustery windy day. Fortunately on the west coast here there are miles of sandy beach ideally suited to the sport coupled with a usually strong south west wind straight off of the Atlantic in the Bay of Biscay. Unfortunately my days of high speed motorsport are gone and I needed some adrenalin sport to replace racing and so far this fits the bill along with the motorbike and the occasional blasts out for the day.

 

I've seen it done, looks fun. I'd probably break a bone on the first attempt.

 

Do try it Dusty, you'd love it. You can go as fast or slow as you want. It's like gliding, lot's of speed, if you want, and virtually no noise - eerie.

The only problem is you get smothered in wet sand and goggles or safety glasses are a must. The biggest issue is if run run through some dog's poo, you get showered with it - fortunately it's never happened to me - yet

 

dog poo, yikes. Now that sounds like a steaming pile of fun

it is now on the to do list. . problem is, I have only seen it done, while on vacation. guess I need to plan a new vaca.
