I can only imagine how bad the gas mileage was on this turtle (turd-le).

Yeah, the 1998 Land Rover Discovery V8i is definitely a quirky classic. It has its charm, but reliability can be hit or miss. Off-road capability is great, though—you just have to love it for what it is, flaws and all!
