Default The top 10 Things women want before hooking up

I laughed my fool head off today while driving around town in the Rover listening to the latest survey by the Daily Mail. What do you guys think? Too many superficial demands?? What happened to the basics like 'good sense of character, makes me laugh, is sexy in his own right, is respectful, caring, have known each for a while yada yada..' What is happening to our society and what does this say about my gender?!?!?!!! Hm... I'm afraid to ask what is on the list if they were to survey men

They also missed one big thing. #1 should have been 'he must be able to handle a Rover'

According to a new survey posted on The Daily Mail, the average woman now wants five dates before hooking up for the first time. Plus, there are a bunch of other things on her checklist, too. Here are the ten things women want to happen before they’ll go “Swimming in the ocean for the 1st time with a new guy.”

1. Five dates
2. Two gifts
3. Five messages on social media, meaning Facebook, Twitter, or a dating website.
4. 12 text messages
5. Five phone calls
6. Three movies
7. Seven kisses
8. Five meaningful conversations. (Which is probably the toughest one on the list for guys.)
9. Four meals together
10. One bouquet of flowers

You're dead right, the DM get everything wrong and are reputed for it in the UK amongst any thinking people. They are another alarmist tabloid rag and actually not worth reading. They love pursuing alarmist articles to wind up nationals about minority groups, social spending or whatever. They do surveys which amount to a load of BS and then canvass opinions. On the rare occasion they do pursue some genuine, good investigative stories but these are often besmirched by their intrigue with rebel (or should that be rabble) rousing, troublemaking articles. In the UK their profile is pretty low compared to the quality broadsheets but even those are politically loaded as is most media and press. Even the BBC News cannot be trusted which is often politically slanted. One has always to read between the lines and form a view of everything published wherever. I often am!

lol.. I just wrote up a 'diatribe' about what is wrong with today's society and the forum rejected it (apparently) (or my finger slipped as I proceeded to submit it) as the computer made a 'ewww' noise and then deleted everything I had written

Thanks for chiming in OffroadFrance I had written that I was surprised that there weren't any other responses as I'm always up for a good battle of the sexes but alas most of the men on here must be married and settled (although I know that you are) and stick in the muds (not you of course...) I love the banter - the back and forth and perhaps am a little bit of an instigator at times.

I have heard that regarding The Daily Mail before but seem to recall a few good inserts coming out with the paper from time to time - at least I think it was the Daily Mail as it has been a while since I've been in the UK. This latest survey, however, reminded me of the games that some women have been known to play when dating a man. To me (and I'm a self-proclaimed slightly titched woman) this seems PLUM CRAZY. It reminded me of a book that was first published and all the craze 20 years ago titled 'The Rules'. Oh lookie.. they are still at it: The Rules | The Rules is a way of dating that really works! I'd hate to know what the wonderful authors are suggesting now in the world of social media 'Let the man be the first to FB request you otherwise he will not respect you' or some crap like that My sister followed 'the rules' years ago in the 90's with a guy she was dating and like a voyeur I sat back and watched the entire scenario play out. She set a timer in the kitchen when she was on the phone with him (we were living together at the time) and once the timer went off she had to get off of the phone. It worked like a charm but their relationship ended up blowing up for god knows whatever reason I still tease her about 'the rules' to this day..

DM aside, I am the worlds worst for a rant about modern society and the deleterious way it's declined. It seems no-one is accountable for their actions and the system panders to the lazy and feckless with state handouts. The whole system has gone pear shaped and if one is normal they are 'outside' the box of modern acceptability. My question is "what will the world be like in 25 years time" and I dread to think. The middle east is totally screwed up and mass murder seems the norm under the guise of government protection , pupils at school murder other pupils and teachers for no apparent reason, gang warfare and guns used regularly are the acceptable face of inner city society, drugs culture rules everywhere and cartels kill for drug turf. Where will it all lead. I'm an atheist by choice and design now but I see that as the sane option to religion rather than radicalism practised by many. Rant over
