Default Trump's lack of military service

Why does Trump and Pence salute in military style when neither of them has seen any military service! Is this an insult to past and present military personnel?

No more of an insult than the previous pot smoking, non-serving, side-saddle riding President.

No more of an insult than people thanking me for my service

President Trump, as the Commander -In-Chief, is overall in-charge of all U.S. military forces. When he salutes the Marines on his way down the jetway, that is a compliment to those in uniform - not an insult. He shows respect by returning the salutes of his military personnel. Several U.S. Presidents in the past have not returned the salute of those protecting him - THAT, to me, is an insult.

What they said and as a currently serving military member I know that no insult is intended and appreciate that he takes it seriously.

Agreed. Commander in Chief is the highest ranking military official. As a vet, I appreciate his respect for the military, regardless of his service (or lack thereof).

What he said!

And as long as he doesn't give the Starbucks salute like Obama did, then it's even better

Starbucks salute? It's probably the same as what we call in the Air Force as a John Wayne salute.

I am quite certain that Trump and Pence care 100% about our military and respect its function and what it represents.

I cannot speak like some of the veterans here, but my wife is a California Peace Officer and we are sick and tired of the disrespect that the previous administration showed towards peace officers and the disrespect the media has given towards Peace Officers.

If people would give our new administration a chance, I know good things are ahead of us.
