Default What coolers do you use?

Its been a while since i sold the rover- and i just haven't found the right one just yet to replace it.

I have however have been wanting to go camping and the truck seems to be up for it.

On the hunt for some of the ozark trail tumblers from walmart i found out that walmart has these Ozark Trail high performance coolers and if they perform like their tumblers these are a steal!

The Ozark trail 30oz tumbler beat out my rtic 30 oz and my rtic was on par with the yeti 30oz.

So whats everyone using? before these coolers i had a coleman 100qt xtreme 5 day cooler that has served me well and took a good amount of abuse from being in the rover. I did have to patch the cooler a few times to keep it usable but these might have just replaced it for good.

I have some BS igloo ones I use. I'm in the market for new ones. I'm curious how these will perform. The Yeti ones are sure pricey.

We also use a styrofoam cooler that collapses flat, we have had mixed results with it, bjs sells it, on one rover trip we had ice left after 3 days in the back of my d1, con is because it folds any melting leaks out

Started the control ice test with the ozark trail roto coolers on Wednesday before a planned power outage. The days are not as hot as they will be in a month or two so I am only testing the coolers inside for a control to see how they do in good conditions. The house is normally 73/75 degrees and the coolers were not pre-chilled for the test and were only opened for pictures.
I filled one 73qt cooler a 52qt and a 26qt all the way and a partial 73qt. All four coolers took 11 bags of 16 pounds of ice and while there were three filled to the max with just water bottles the fourth one was used to store food in case the power outage lasted more than four hours( it lasted 5 1/2 hours from what I could tell). I used my cooler for the food and my friends for the ice in case things got messy but I guess I should have tested them to see if they held water first....whoops.
On day three the second 73qt cooler I picked up for a friend sprung a leak on the cap, and after some clean up it was removed from the test along with my 73qt since it was not full to begin with.
At day 5 the 26 qt still has a huge chunk of ice underneath the bottles of water and the 52 qt still has about 2/3 of the amount it started with. Ill update in 2 days to see how things are still going.

The 26qt is smaller and that's why i believe it has a lower rating than the bigger coolers.

I've always used the LR 12v electric box (not sure of the capacity, 35 litres comes to mind) which has performed pretty well. It doesn't make ice but it maintains the temperature well if ice is introduced first. It also has a heating mode.
