There's a Disco for sale at the local crappy beater dealer for only $799. The body looks good so it must have a blown engine or something. How much work and money is involved in swapping in some generic
X-100 PAD?

Is it a Disco I or II
I have a Disco II 2003 and I put a new engine in it 2 years ago.
I bought it from a group in the UK that build Rally Engines for the Land Rovers....
It came fully built ready to drop in. All I had to do is bolt on the alternator, aircon stuff FAN etc and the intake manifold from the old engine (plus exhaust stuff.
Took a couple of hours after a quick drop in . Engine was up and running within 1 day.
The engine cost me US 7800 built and shipped DHL (took 3 days to get it to New Zealand)
What I do know of that year Disco II engine is that the block is based off a GM design small block V8,
