One of those days - wishing I could talk to an old friend but instead I'm reading a book about pinniped intelligence and soft-coded dna. Highlight of the day was hearing that one of my two vehicles is almost fixed. Don't know what to do with the Rover. I really need to get a grip. Paying insurance on a vehicle that hasn't been driven in a year is probably not the most economical decision in the world. My colleagues have asked if I've left it at work to die.

If anyone is out there listening.... the struggle is real....

...and embarrassing.

Hi KD

I feel for your dilemma but if things are bad and life is rubbish just think there are others in far worse positions.

Read these words very carefully!

Hey Offroad! Great to hear from you - how's life treating you lately? Miss seeing you on the forum Didn't mean to sound like 'Debbie Downer' - just trying to figure out a game plan for the Rover seeing as it's summer and hoping that maybe I can get it going in the next century My issues are all relative (thank goodness) and I have nothing to complain about. I just don't want to relive last summer and stress over what someone is doing to my Beloved Bertha. I'll probably end up having her towed home and try to hide her in the garage when my neighbor isn't looking. One thing is for certain - I need to get her moved from my office parking lot and I don't want to take her back to the shop that 'fixed' her in the fall. The plan had been to take her to get the transfer case resealed and then the front driver side ball joint. I'm going to give it one last attempt tomorrow to see if I can clean the throttle body and the IACV and see what I see. After that I guess I'll look at the TPS or something, crawl underneath it and see if a hose is hanging? I have NO clue haha. I posted a video on the forum a couple of months ago but deleted it because the comments were less than kind and I don't have thick enough skin to deal with that. Hence my snail like pace on getting her going. Maybe someday she'll drive again

Thanks for Frank!

Christina

Hi Christina

I haven't been on the forum since January but I decided to give it a whirl, coincidence eh, as I have many issues at present, prostate cancer etc! However, I have the first op on Tuesday 4 June and latterly a couple more I hope, to complicate matters I have some other issues, sclero-emphysema, to make things worse, I didn't realise it until they did a soft tissue scan so a GA is out of the question. Anyway, enough of my problems. IMHO take Bertha home and park it up and then get some sensible quotes to sort out your problems with the LR, it's more than likely anyone worth their salt will visit your home to assess the situation. Don't forget they need the work and you are paying them. Get references and check them out thoroughly before committing to anyone. Good luck with the LR. Don't be phased by others, most/many are simpletons who don't have a clue about LR's let alone fixing them.
