Gloria Estefan:

Mistermisfit, I know that you're a Simple man and into newer music (hick hop) but tonight I just have to listen to oldies but goodies. Rap doesn't comfort like Gloria can

If music was the theme of the thread then musicality is implicit to it.

The musicality, the rythm, the lyrics in tune and within the logic of the theme of the music make for good listening.

And here you have introduced Gloria Estefan to me. What a touching ending to a day she has accomplished, thank you sir.

I'm happy that I could introduce you to something new, MonteroMan. I enjoy listening to Ms. Estefan's ballads once in a while. Although I appreciate her talent I would much rather listen to her ballads any day than her fast paced songs (don't know why?..)

Oh, and just for the record... I'm a woman

One more for your listening pleasure...

Touché, my lady...

There was an immediate fresh - and different than the present norm - melodious tone in her voice, and the music was good listening. The lost-love theme may become a little trying after a while, don't you think - so the above was pleasant, thank you.

Something from the home country:

OH.. do you really want to go there?.. lol.. I am the QUEEN of the lost-love themes, I know them all and I enjoy belting them out..

Jon Secada anyone?

Speaking of lost love themes that second song of yours was of the same genre, wouldn't you say? And what was up with the two men in the video? Beige truck, blue truck, dinner, blue truck comes back, pies are thrown.. was that a pie?

Very lovely - thank you for sharing - now if I could only speak the language although, love is a universal one and, I kind of got the gist

I thought the sticky stuff was was a bowl of butter - wasting good, edible treats has never been part of the culture, much more joy to sit down and eat it with tea or coffee.
The secenery is typical of the home country so that was mainly why I posted it.

I think there is the simple story line in the movie that the financially well-off, strapping neighbour tried his charming best while her love for the other young, struggling farmer suffered some frustrations. "Seven Times Woman" came to mind.
