Where do they all go to?
When one scans through the posts there are a lot fewer recognisable names than a year ago and some new names appearing. Where do they all go? Do they sell their LR's and move onto typically the Audi, BMW, Skoda, Saab, Volvo, Mercedes or Trabant forums?, well no-one would buy a Renault, Peugeot or Citroen these days would they .............. well would they
What happened to SuperSport, he sold his truck but was a great contributor, and Landlover1, where did she go? I reckon they slink off and buy Dacia dustbins 'cos they're cheap and won't admit to it

Hey.. funny story. Back in 2005 I was in the UK and booked a car rental for a few weeks thru a company online. When I got there to pick the vehicle up (economy rental) they told me that they had made a mistake and that they would 'upgrade' me to a Renault Espace for no extra charge. Boy was that interesting. First time driving in the UK and tackling roundabouts, hedgerow encroached narrow lanes with a big 'people mover' with the steering wheel on the opposite side that I was used to - I had an entirely new vocabulary after that trip
I did, however, find the technology interesting as there was no 'key' per se - it was one of those plastic key cards and I had to push a button to start the damn thing. Talk about granny go-karts.
Yea Savannah Disco Mike SS a bunch a vanished. I vanished for awhile but I came back LOL I have 2 Rovers so I need this forum.
This is where I learned to replace my headgaskets myself, Plus replace the front wheel seal.. Flushing coolant I could go on and on.
Does everyone visit other Forums or mainly this one?? I used to go to several but not as much as I used to.
Times are changing. Rovers get old. Folks move on I suppose.

Have no fear - Landlover_1 is here!
I didn't go and buy a Dacia dustbin, thank you very much
A girl had to do what a girl has to do and I was trying to be on my best behavior these past couple of weeks but I don't think it mattered one iota...
In all actuality I was on sabbatical (vacation) for a while and working a lot afterward - no rest for the wicked. Nursing a slightly wounded heart (grieving a loss really sucks), harvesting the goodness of nature's bounty and working on projects around the house have also kept me busy. How are you guys doing?
I'm 'spent' so am going to make it short and get to bed. I baked six loaves of zucchini walnut bread today, whipped up one large batch of pesto for freezing and had an overabundance of apples to wash, peel and cut up for freezing (have never tried it before but there's always a first time for everything) for the winter ahead. I heard it's supposed to be another polar vortex winter and if the temps we're experiencing at night is any indication, we're in for another doozy
Nice to know that I can be missed by some... It warms the cockles of my pituitary gland

This is an interesting topic, as I was wondering the same thing. I have been gone for bout a year and a half as I had sold my D1, but came back because I just have to have another Land Rover, and a lot of the names I was expecting to see aren't here. Is that guy who wanted to extend his D2 because he didn't like how short it was still here??? That guy made my day, everyday! Haha

It's more like "Science" I don't think it would get longer,, Just last longer on the highway. The Land Rover that is
Glad to see you back Landlover, Sorry about the ole Pituitary

..................... oh sh!te, I've already lost 50% of mine ..................

tell you what, we have been buying our ciabatta olive oil loaves in Lidl recently and they are ace, they bake ciabatta and fig loaves as well now - also ace. All are baked fresh on the premises.
I know Lidle. some are better than others but the bread is always good. They had good deals on wine also. At least in South France.

If you get the opportunity take a look at their offers for electric, pneumatic and hand tools which are invariable Bosch made under another name and superb quality. I have bought many here and cannot fault them. They are in serious competition with the expensive unbranded junk sold in the larger bricolage sheds here. Their prices are excellent as is all of their DIY range at usually a fraction of others prices.
