Default Series Model Help

I´m in the midst of a transaction in which I´ll receive two series II model LR´s. It doesn´t seem like there are any enthusiasts around here so I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to meet some. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BTW for those that are interested the trucks are a ´71 and ´78. The older has near pristine facory paint and a new Toyota diesel in it. It runs real strong, but the ride quality is a little harsh. I´m thinking of packing the leafs with grease and putting some bigger tires on it. The ´78 is currently without engine although we´ll probably be putting a yota diesel in it as well. It´s not pretty but I drove it a lot before the engine was pulled and it´s a mean truck. I´ll be posting pictures soon at my website http://www.matthewrjohnson.com for anyone whose interested.

Thanks again.

Hi Matt,
I have a Series III Diesel 1981, be careful with going with more powerful engines, much above 100bhp and the Gearbox will suffer badly unless you drive very carefully. As regards the ride, welcome to leaf spring Landys, I oil mine with old engine oil stops them sweaking. As for tyres I fitted 7.50x16 on LWB rims. If you want radials you could fit 235/85R16 but you would need 90/110 rims or modulars as series rims are rivetted so need tubes, the 90/110 are welded so are ok without.

Matt,
Where are you located? I'm in Yorktown, VA, and I just got a Series III with a Defender diesel.
Cheers,
Chuck
