I just bought a new to me 1994 RRC. What do I need to know? I’m primarily used to D2’s. But I couldn’t pass up this deal. For about the car.

The Good, strong engine, it shifts good. Essentially the entire drive train runs great.

The Bad, Has an ABS/TC light on.
The interior is utterly thrashed.
Needs a new back drivers side passenger window
Needs a radio
AC needs to be fixed.
Heater needs to be fixed.
Suspension bushes need to be replaced.
Desperately needs paint.
And desperately needs an alignment.

Where do I find the interior parts?
And where do O find a manual like the RAV?

Congrats! I’m picking away at my RRC also.

first and foremost: if it gets clacky when got, give it thicker oil. Go one beyond the max spec. I think I’ve got 10w50 (pac nw) in mine. Works great.

If you’ve got EAS, build an EAS serial cable get RSW’s EAS unlock software. You’ll need it sooner or later. Also the compressor from a P38a can be fit.

if your back Windows don’t always work, there are dry joints on your window ECU.

if you have memory seat/mirrors, and they’re working, for the love of god pull your seat ECU and replace the battery before it leaks and tosses the whole computer. If they’re not working… that’s another thread.

if your rear lift gate is working, take it apart, clean it, spray it with zero rust, put it back together. It’ll be an expensive replacement someday.

mechanically they’re pretty simple, but electronically they can be problematic.

lots of wreckers and eBay for parts.

You should be able to google your way into RAVE it’s hosted lots of places.

cheers

Great stuff! What exactly do you mean dry joints? As in the grease in the window motors has dried out?

Dry joints or cold solder joints is when the soldered joint breaks and power is not flowing through the circuit, You can do a search for cold solder joints.. Cold Solder Joint Thread
