Default 2008 TDV6 turbo problem

My 2008 TDV6 Vogue has been running nicely, just back from a week in Europe, cruising at speeds that aren't legal in the UK. Used it over the weekend to get to and from work, just turned off the M2 and about. a mile down te road the engine went into limp mode, Engine System Failure. Managed to limp it home, started it in the morning, it would run and rev up eventually but only in limp mode, loads of oily smoke. This morning called rcovery to get it to my local indt garage. they reckon turbo failure and that may have caused internal damage.

The car's done about 180,000 miles and has recently had new brakes, tyres and suspension arm done and gearbox rebuild last year. Is it realistically worth repairing, trying to source a decent engine as it's ben very reliable until now with regular servicing.
