2011 Range Rover Supercharged Transmission
I have a 2011 Range Rover Supercharged with 192,000km and notice a “shuddering” feeling as I am accelerating and the vehicle is under load, or noticeable when climbing a hill at lower rpm. If I push hard on the pedal then I can power through it. Sometimes I noticed it a bit more than other times, I can’t figure out the pattern but maybe it’s not as bad when it’s colder. I don’t get any lights on the dash about the transmission. When I’m driving at a constant cruising speed, I notice that the RPM gauge will fluctuate up and down by about 200rpm the whole time and it can be heard in the engine as well. I could wait it out but don’t want it to fail on a long trip. It has been suggested by Land Rover to replace the transmission with a remanufactured one (very expensive at about $10-12k CAD) or try a transmission fluid flush ($1k CAD). I got a quote to rebuild the transmission at $7k CAD, their opinion was that a transmission fluid flush will likely not make a big difference. Does anyone know what the issue might be and what you would recommend from experience? Thank you.
Someone suggested disconnecting the transfer case from the motor to see if it shudders, if it doesn’t then it is a torque converter issue. Any opinion on that?
Any advice on how to test solenoid packs on this vehicle?
