Unhappy Air suspension diagnostic help

Hello all! I have a 2008 Range rover 4.4 HSE and i am having some issues with the air suspension. im fairly familiar with the system and the way it works i just would like some confirmation in my findings before I throw some parts at it, always good to have a second opinion right!

My range rover is new to me i purchased it with the owner warning the car will collapse in the front if left sitting. I was fine with this as it was a good deal. Get to the car its sitting on the front bump stops like described. Get in the car to fire it up set car to off-road height get out close the door, back goes up a little but the front does nothing. You can just hear the sound of air pulsing in the front right wheel well and the compressor running. so i instantly assumed ok theres a large leak. try and cycle the suspension some turning the car on and off to let the system rest all in all spent an hour messing with it. the car would go into the soft fault for "vehicle lifting slowly". After letting it sit about 10 mins after my final try i come back and try one more time the car airs all the way up slowly but it was on bump stops so id say it raised at a normal rate. Car held air would go all the way up and all the way down and back to normal. bought it drove it home 115 miles with no faults. let it sit in my house over night did not lose any air, came out cycled it and decided i would drive it to my cabin to feel out the truck more and see how the suspension does. 140 miles into my 150 mile trip the sound like a gun shot and within a second suspension fault and the car was on bump stops riding like garbage. Pulled over restarted car and it went into soft fault and raised up the back and the car was doing everything it did when i got there to buy it. Pulsing air sound this time from the drivers side not the passenger. Pulled the compressor fuse so it wouldn't burn out limping it home. My assumption at this point is my drivers air spring has just exploded. Got it to my shop and the front end lifted up on jack stands (with suspension fuse removed) and heres what i have got.

1) removed wheels and pulled fender liners out on drivers and passenger.
- Confirmed that air lines are still attached to the spring on drivers side
- Felt for obvious holes around drivers spring couldn't find any but spring was extremely dry rotted and had absolutely 0 air
-Same on passenger side

2) put wheels back on with fender liners off to check for leaks around valve block in passenger wheel well. Replaced suspension fuse and ran the vehicle to have air running through the front lines.
-Valve block was not leaking and im assuming is functioning properly as you could feel the solenoid activate and hear the air pulsing sound in the drivers side
-a similar but not quite as loud bang sound came from the suspension while walking around it to turn off the truck front was completly on bump stops so hard to tell where it came from, and the back is still holding air fine and its sat for 3 days
-when turning the vehicle back off there is no air depressurization or leaking noise from the driver side but instead a constant sound of air leaking from the passenger spring area assuming now that it blew out the equally as dry rotted passenger side.

So my current assumption is this: Buy 2 air springs pop those bad boys in, lower the car off the jack stands to where the vehicle is just barely off the ground, get in the car activate the suspension let it lift itself off the jack stands, good to go.

i just want to make sure this isnt an issue with one of the distribution blocks or any other part of the suspension. i just find it odd the car can go from being on bump stops to perfectly normal to right back in the same place other than the fact it probably blew out an air spring.

I just bought a new to us 04 RR and it has a similar issue. The motor is also not running so I have bigger fish to fry right now, but with just the key on the other night and with a battery charger hooked up, I was using my scanner to check for any codes and such. after about 30 min of messing around I decided to shut it off (the key had been in the on position just before start). I locked the vehicle with the key fob and noticed air pulsing like you describe from the RF tire area. the vehidle had been on the bump stops sense I brought it home on my trailer, but it was actually lifting up and trying to level out now!... it messed around and kept loosing quite a bit of air, then it decided to let it be and settled back down on the bump stops. Still there... Sorry I'm not much help, but thought I could relate sort of... best of luck, will follow this thread for info. Thanks, Clay
