Default A/C cooling delayed

Hi everyone, I’ve had my 2012 Rover for 6 months and have a couple small issues I’m hoping to figure out. First the A/C sometimes doesn’t start to blow cold. If the car is shut off and restarted or a/c button is turned on/off a couple times it will be fine and have no issues. (Seems like the compressor sometimes doesn’t activate). I’ve checked the refrigerant charge (evacuated and charged to the exact level on the sticker). Also no faults on the system...I was thinking the compressor may be the issue?? Also around 55-60 I get a buzzing air flow type noise from the front/windshield area, the noise seems to change if you crack a window and change cabin pressure...and it comes and goes as it pleases. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! -Nick

I have the exact same issues on my 2010 RR supercharged/ Did you ever figure this out?

Hey, I figured out the noise on the highway. It’s the recirc flap seals for the hvac system, there is a TSB from LR to apply special tape to them. For the A/C issue it is most likely the A/C compressor - haven’t changed it yet though.

RoverL322, I have the same delay issue with the AC. I have not found a solution but hopeful someone else has solved the problem and will share the solution.

I have an ‘08 Westminster that does the same thing. A/C light is on, everything to max cold, but the compressor doesn’t start until ‘1’ of ‘2’ things: either you rev the motor a few times while parked, or let it sit idling for 10-15 minutes then it kicks on. Compressor was replaced. New ‘heater control valve” also. I’m stumped…

I've had this problem and resolved it by replacing the DPS valve on the A/C compressor. The part is LR061463. Also, with the noise from the recirc flaps, has anyone found a fix for this that works long-term?

I am also experiencing this issue - is the consensus here that its best to just replace the A/C compressor?

I have a 2012 RR that does the same thing....a/c delay coming on. And now it is starting to cycle on and off, like it works for 20 minutes, then blows luke warm for 20 minutes, etc. It was just diagnosed as needing a new compressor and condenser. Estimate was $4,250 plus tax. Does that seem reasonable? Thanks
