Default DVD and radio faulty

I have a 2006 Sport Supercharged. The dvd 6 stacker in the back is not playing on the rear entertainment screens located in the headrest, although a CD will play from the same unit. Cd also plays on the in dash (6cds) unit. Coincidentally the buttons on the radio are now failing, cannot scan F/Fwd rewind etc. Intermittent working. Im planning on replacing both the DVD and the radio/cd assembly. Has anyone done this ? What is recommended to buy... second hand or new? My gut says new is more failsafe especially with the radio although twice the price. Is it simply just remove plug in replacement and go, or more complicated than that? Any advice would be much appreciated. Ive never had these issues with a Rover and would prefer to keep things original than get an aftermarket entertainment system. Thanks Tim.

Default Did you end up sorting it out?

I've got a 2008 TDV8 and the rear screens won't work but the stacker in the back still powers on. Also the radio works fine. I've found a fiber optic cable disconnected under the drivers seat.I think that's my issue. Yours sounds like an interesting one.
