New to the forum so please excuse any etiquet faux pas and appreciate any help you all can provide. Took ownership of my FIL's 2007 L322 HSE 4.4L about a year ago. Have experienced what seems typical L322 issues for it's age (rear camera fail, front air suspension bladder leak) but just the other day noticed a fluid spot on the garage floor (see coloring in the attached photo, not sure if this helps.) Seems to originate from a vent/breather tube in the front of the driver side (left side) engine bay near the dipstick and air filter housing and then drips down onto a hose right below (see pic), through various other parts and then onto the lower control arm. From what I can tell, I think this is the breather tube for the transmission - can someone confirm? If so, what would be causing fluid to push up through the tube?
Thanks for the help and let me know what other information I should provide.
