Default Starting...... or not

Evening all,
Ive got a 54 plate (BMW engine), and this morning I went to start her to move her off the drive so the wife can go to work in her, and put key in, turned key, waited for "pre-heat", was very quick almost none existent, appeared to turn over couple of times, then dies. Tried again and fired up ok. Got home from work and the wife told me it had happened to her as she left work at 13:30 ! Any ideas
Sorry its a bit long winded, but was trying to paint a bit of a picture
Thanks in advanced
Dave

Was it cranking slow like a weak battery? Or was it firing up just fine than stalling out?

I have noticed a slightly slow start last week, but put it down to frosty weather !
But this time the speed of the turning over seems normal

Check your voltages just to be sure. Also, next time it does it. Cycle the key on wait 5 seconds the do it again 3rd try crank it over
