Default How To Install Front & Rear Dash Cam in Range Rover L405: Video write up

Hello everybody! Purchased our 2021 Range Rover full-size about a month ago and just got around to installing a dash camera in the front and rear. The front was pretty simple, however the rear was a bear to get a clean install. I recorded the process with a 4 part series. First video is just an unboxing of the dash cam. I went with the BlackVue DR900X 2 channel. 2nd part is tapping and routing power from the fuse panel behind the glove box, up the A pillar and to the mirror. 3rd video is installing a custom made BlendMount and mounting the dash cam. Check out that video for an explanation on the custom part. Apparently the mirror stem must've changed for 2021. The 4th video is installing and routing the rear cam through the tailgate all the way back to the front.

Excellent job! Your a brave man. I had considered buying a cam, but when I asked the dealer about it they discouraged me from messing with it.
Maybe I will refer your vid and see if they want to try it. I have 2 left hands so not me.

Thanks! I’m pretty handy with mods but this one definitely had me nervous at first

Dealer is willing..Thanks.
They did ask me to order a fuse tap like what you used.
Do you happen to have a link for that?

They installed mine yesterday, they did say the didn't use the fuse tap as they felt soldering in was a better option. They ran late as I had a couple other issues to fix while it was in and didn't charge me for the install.
Thank you for the videos, they actually used them at the dealer.
Now I will watch the video on the use of it.

Bumping this older thread.
I recently installed one of the newer Thinkware dashcam sets (front & rear) into my L405.
Your thread was tremendously helpful during this process. Just wanted to give a shout out. Thank you for all the extremely useful research and information.

The rear cameras are always a bear to install. Excellent job and thanks to the OP for posting the video.
