Have read that if u disconnect the earth lead to the small battery in the boot that the stop/start function is disabled. Also told that if u do this u loose heated seats, heated steering wheel @ heated windscreen. Can someone clarify

I would not mess with the earth lead at all. Keep it as designed and just use the button inside to disable the stop-start function each time you get in the car.

 

I just unplugged the small batter altogether. Everything still works fine.

The auto start stop is insanity. A great way to ruin your starter and motor.
