Advice/reassurance Fixing Air Suspension Leak
Hi everyone. I have owned several Disco's and just picked up my first Range Rover. 2006 HSE Sport. I have spent the past couple of weeks fixing the big stuff so it runs and drives great. Now for the air suspension. This is my first experience with air suspension. I found the leak. It's at the hose where it enters the top of the airbag. I got out my 12mm and gave it a little tightening and hoped that would do the trick. Nope.
I would like remove the hose and check it out. I've watched plenty of videos regarding leaks and replacing airbags but am still a bit confused. Can I just unscrew the nut and inspect the end of the hose without having to remove the entire strut? I understand the bag will deflate. Will I have issues with re-filling or with the height sensors? I don't have an OBD to recalibrate or set suspension height.
The compressor works fine and keeps the airbag at standard height while driving. After a while I will get a suspension fault warning. When I park, the right rear drops because of the leak.
Any advise as to how to approach this would be very much appreciated.
Thank you,
Pete

Actually, I found the issue. I thought it was the attachment, but about an inch behind was what looks like crush damage to the hose. So now I need to replace the hose. I used to patch stuff to slow it down. I might just leave it and swap to coils and not bother to replace the hose. We'll see. Thanks for taking a few second out of your day to read this.

Hi Pat, even if i am fully new on this forum, and with my RRS 2008, i can reply to that one.
Yes you can unscrew the pipe connector on top of your airstrut. Its easier while removing the spare wheel due to the inside positioning of this connector. 12mm spanner that's it.
Then you can even pretty easily change the pipe, this is a 6mm pipe you will find for free on amazon, and this one is running from the rear right strut to the valve block located in the left rear arch.
Work is much easier with new pipes as the old one are stiff / rigid..
Take care to the pressure when removing, I used a knife to cut the pipe... but this is not per the process and manual
.
Take care when refitting the connector in the valve block as its a plastic thread so you must be gentle and straight. Check your O ring, make some silicone grease, tight gently
