Default Considering a RRS purchase and have questions

Hi RRS owners, I'm considering a purchase of a 2012 HSE. It has 115K miles and has had timing chain replacement at 100K. Excellent maintenance record - everything works. I drove it and it felt great and handled excellent. The owner really stayed on top of the maintenance. My only beef with the vehicle is the foul dog odor which is either in the carpet in the cargo area or it's in the rear seats. Could be front passenger seat (some people do this).

I'd love your thoughts on what can be done to remove the smell. I thought about replacing the carpet as I'm sure they've tried to wash the carpet with their detailing. There's pet spray that is intended to break down the bacteria and get rid of the smell. -- so many things to try. Love the car, but the smell is too much to overlook. If you've had experience in this issue, would appreciate your comments. Cheers!

Yes I have that as well 3mths later after purchase .I had to spray the Freelander my partner has and I used all sorts , that was milk spilt, still there.. Fabreeze is supposed to be good and Halfords have a cleaner for bacteria.

You could try an ozone generator or one of the methods in the search string. Biggest fear is it's set in the carpet padding and it may all have to be replaced, as a last effort tho. Guess it just really depends on running the #'s and seeing what's less expensive. That RRS or a diff one with a more shady record.

shoot, thanks for your replies. I forgot I had post this question and all the notifications I had went to junk mail. I ended up not buying this vehicle. There's one in the future perhaps for me... likely something newer with the Td6 engine.
