Over heating!
Hello guys I'm new to the form and also new to owning a range Rover sport. My wife bought a high mileage 2009 range Rover sport HSE paid a nice penny for it drive from the guys house about a mile then it over heated called a tow truck to pick up the next day and found a coolant leak just under the throttle body in a plastic pipe I have no idea whats the name of this part but it's very small leak coolant is still full so can't understand why is it over heating?
U may have quite an issue on your hands. What may be the issue is that coolant was either mixed with two not chemically compatible ones which leads two gunk build up inside the radiator and all the coolant tubes clogging them up causing your engine to over heat. However, there can be a simpler issue in that your rubber tubes on the car can be crumbling up which old rovers usually have and just need replacing. One last thing is that since you have an 09 rover with high milage usually they need a new water pump and coolant components and tubes after 50000 to 65000 so it is most likely a common issue you have. Hope all gets resolved.
