Is it common problem for the tailgate shock to pop off? I do not want to pull it off again but the shock ball is halfway out of the shock socket ready to come off soon. I tightened the clip but it has not helped. Without taking it out I think maybe the ball stud is warn out of round or the shock socket is worn out.

Has anyone else had this problem of the shock popping off?
