2014 RR Sport V8 Torque Converter / Transmission failure
I have a 2014 RR Sport V8 with 76k miles. Extended warranty ended 5 months ago. The vehicle
was driving fine with no noises or mechanical issues.
I pulled up to a stop sign and when I went to pull away the Gear Box Fault warning came on. The
vehicle would not shift out of first gear and would rev high. I limped it home (1 mile). When I would
shift it into reverse sometimes it would move other times just rev.
Towed to my local mechanic and he was not able to reset the transmission control module. Towed it
to a Land Rover dealer. After several days they told me it needed a new torque converter. They replaced
then said they could not program the torque converter control module and it would need to be replaced.
They replaced the module and tell me the vehicle is doing the same thing. They talked to Land Rover corp. and they told the techs that the torque converter was likely not in the neutral position and need to pull it off the vehicle. The dealership
did this, and it still has not resolved the problem. Land Rover is now saying the transmission needs to replaced.
Anyone who has seen similar issue or has some ideas, I would greatly appreciate your input. THANK YOU!
