Fuel Gauge inaccurate calculation issues
I bought my wife a 2020 Sport HST. It is suppose to have a 27.5 gallon capacity fuel tank. I have never put more than 21 gallons into the vehicle to fill it up. I recently filled it up with it showing 50 miles to empty with 19.8 gallons to fill the tank. The gauge shows after fill up 396 to empty, which calculates to 14.4 mpg. We have been averaging 19.5. Dealership could not find any issues. Anybody have a similar problem. Thanks!

Well I asked about being new because while I dont know the HST at all my though was a re-badge. Only because some of the other Sports seem to come with a 22.7 gallon tank. And with what you describe, a face valve that seems to be the size of tank you have. There is no real easy way to verify the tank capacity unless a part number can be located on it or it can be filled and drained. If even possible, I wonder if the wrong size tank was installed on the line. There is clearly an issue though.

Have to try another dealer. Thats just too much of a capacity different between being empty and filling up. My LR3 is off by about a gallon, which is expected for reserve. But you are off by several. I assume you have repeated the exercise of the gauge reading out and filling up a few times? I would bring it to the dealer at empty and have them fill it themselves to confirm themselves.
