04 Disco 4.6 short block compete
I have a 4.6 short block complete with pistons, rods, cam, crank assembled, never taken apart with 72K on it for sale - $1K
The motor was pulled because it was thought to have a slipped sleeve. After the replacement motor was installed, I started looking at the original motor. There was no sign of sleeve movement to the eye. The block was taken in a pressure tested and again no sign of any sleeve movement, not even a hint. Pressure testing a block cold is not the best way to guarantee the sleeves good, but it was the only option I had at this point.
The motor only had 72K on it when it was pulled. There were no noises coming from the motor and it ran well. I was getting a misfire in the #6 cylinder. After replacing every part we could think of that we cause the fault code, the shop said it was the sleeve. They told me they pulled the pan and could see the sleeve problem. I know now that this was all BS. Leaning from experience!
I am looking to sell the motor complete and wanted to be as up front as possible. I might be willing to part the motor for the right price.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers
