I bought a used 1998 Discovery with 105K miles about a month ago. Just my luck, a hole ripped in the radiator hose and the car overheated...the engine didn't seize, but my mechanic told me it was terminal. The car's in great condition all around. I dropped over $3000 on it to replace bulbs, bumper parts, new fog lamps, and other things.

What's the best thing to do with this now? List on eBay? Junk it? Anybody need it for parts? I picked up another 1998 Disco from Massachusetts yesterday, let's cross our fingers on this one...

If I do end up selling pieces/parts from it then sure...but today I was offered $1000 for the whole thing. I guess I could make more from pieces/parts...but who's got the time?

you can make a lot more as far as parts. On other boards I see people asking for doos @ 250 each, seats around a grand for all of them, wheels, tires, You can easly get a few grand out of it in one weekend.

 

I would keep it for spare parts.
the tran's worth $3000 if you need one, the alternator
is $250 to $300.
Sell off the body parts and keep the drive train,
and electrical things.
