Default 1999 Land Rover Discovery 2 for sale - North Carolina

1999 Land Rover Discovery SD 1 Series. (Disco 1) Dark Green, 153,990 miles. Just had brand new fuel pump put in and brand new battery.

Roof rack, grill guard, leather interior, power seats, locks, mirrors, cruise, tilt wheel, dual moonroofs, alarm system, heated seats.

Engine: 4.0L V8 MPI

Clear title. Great toy for 4-wheeling! Needs new O2 sensor and power steering. Rear moonroof leaks a little during heavy rain, headliner needs TLC, water pump leak. Other than that it's good to go with a little cleaning and know-how.

Email me at heatherm76@gmail.com if you are interested...leave your phone number if you're a serious buyer!

Thanks, Heather

Hi, The pictures you've posted are of a Disco1, not a 2.

Since you mention that the water pump is leaking, has the engine been overheated?
Do you have service records? Is it driveable? Do you have the 5 wheel/tire?

Most importantly, how much are you asking for the truck?

I bought it from my best friends dad (original/only owner) and he swears it's a 2, what's the difference? How can I double check?

The engine has not overheated...the water pump leak must have literally JUST happened b/c we haven't had any issues at all. Had a prospective buyer look at it yesterday and he is the one that saw the water pump leak.

Yes we have most all of the service records...he kept pretty much everything and so have I. Yep, it's driveable...my son drives it around the neighborhood (with a dead tag! LOL).

The 5th wheel is in the back/hatch/trunk area. It needs a new tire as we never changed the flat that's on it. I've got the tire cover for the back, screws and all.

We're listing it on craigslist for $2299 but will take best offer!

Hi Heather, I know this can be confusing with a 1999, this was the year that both the D1 and D2 were offered while Land Rover phased out the D1.

There are two straight forward ways to confirm that it's a DI...

1. The VIN on a D2 starts SALTY... The VIN on a D1 starts SALJY...

2. The door handles are a dead giveaway that this is a D1. On this truck they are recessed, but on a D2 they are mounted to the surface of the door. As an example, here is a link to another member's D2 showing the doors for comparison. https://landroverforums.com/forum/al...pictureid=2273.

You'll just want to confirm it's a D1, but based on what else you've disclosed above, it sounds like your asking price is fair. Either way, good luck with the sale!
