2000 Land Rover Discovery II Pittsburgh PA Make offer
2000 Land Rover Discovery II. Rutland Red 110,000 miles. Make offer
I purchased this truck a few months ago as a father son project. I was told it needed head gaskets, and the top end of the motor was already disassembled. I had the heads inspected and decked at a local machine shop (PR Motors) they also did a complete valve job. I also had the Alternator rebuilt at Murray Auto Electric. I purchased the head gasket kit and proper stretch bolts, water pump and thermostat from Atlantic British. I made a block tester (included with truck) and pressure checked the block, it held 60 psi for well over 24 hours. I cleaned everything and reassembled it. Everything was done to spec. and all tolerances that where checked were well within limits. The truck runs great, shifts great and looks great, but still overheats. I do not know if the block is cracked (no water in oil) or restricted coolant flow thru the radiator, there is a large difference between inlet and outlet temperatures on the radiator.
I am selling as is or as parts, I do not wish to part out. The interior is in great shape, Leather seats look great, very little wear and no holes. Heated seats, Six disc CD changer and dual sunroofs (front one inop). I have a couple new power steering hoses that came with the truck as well, nothing in that system leaks but they are included. The A/C suction line was also replaced and the system was evacuated and half charged just to verify the A/C compressor works. The headliner is sagging just like all the other Rovers out there. The frame is covered in surface rust but solid, my plan was to wire wheel and paint it but since it still overheats I haven’t done so. Front bumper cover is cracked on the passenger side and the front wheel is damaged.
I’m sure I’m forgetting things both good and bad, you will need to tow this truck home since it overheats. This could be a great truck! I have the clear title in hand. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
