2001 Disco II For Sale $10,500 OBO
SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD!!!!! $9K
$10,500 O.B.O.
157,000 miles
Bought this Disco a year ago, paid a relatively nice price at $5K
I was taken to the cleaners by this guy who sells them out of Burbank/Glendale unfortunately as it was not as sound as it seemed at the purchase .
What I've done to make this vehicle right is the following:
Completely rebuilt engine (receipts and warranty) $5,455.82
5 brand new, on road/off road tires $1500
New brakes and rotors $300
Miscellaneous repairs $1,271.18
** I have spent $8,527 in trouble shooting and repairing what should have been sound (MY BAD, I KNOW) LOL.
** With the purchase price of $5K, I'm in a total of $13,527
Totally OK with that, but now you know why I won't return emails with LOW BALL OFFERS. She is a solid runner and is a great foundation if you want to keep upgrading and improving over the years.
Things that are wrong and you should know before you come look at her:
1. The center console where the window controls are, are cracked and not perfect
2. There is no alarm fob for this and the key has worked to lock and unlock the vehicle
3. Minor blemished (dents) in the front bumper guard
4. Looks good close up but looks great from a far
Selling because while it was in the shop getting the engine rebuild done, I bought my wife a raptor instead... LOL
We have been driving it once a week to keep the battery charged and to make sure there are no problems with the fresh rebuild.
PICTURES WERE TAKEN TODAY 06/24/20 (but tomorrow the pictures will have been taken yesterday and so on.. LOL )
***DO NOT BUY FROM A GUY NAMED SAM IN GLENDALE/BURBANK, CA. WHO REPAIRS THEM OUT OF HIS KIDS HOUSE AND CLAIMS TO BE VERY FAMOUS IN THE LAND ROVER WORLD
**ALSO**
I was considering a limited raffle at $100 per entry for no more then 150 entries. That would give me $15K and allow me to pay for shipping anywhere in the lower 50... (thoughts?)

Thanks, I don't really know the market, so am I "BALLPARK" or way out in left field?
I tried parting it out on here late last year, but with the work schedule I had, dismantling and shipping seemed an impossible feet. So we went ahead and did what I still feel is the right thing.

I don't think your price it crazy considering what you've done... Great looking truck, love that interior, just some minor cosmetic fixes needed. Curious, What did Sam in Glendale say he did to the truck?

He said the truck was in perfect working condition and that he'd trust it to go across country "NOW".
So 2 days later the Check engine light comes on (Emissions) but none the less. I assume (99% know) that he just plugged it in, reset what ever code and knew it would take a matter of days until the light came on again.
Then the car locked itself all up ????? He did drive to my wife and reset something or other.... IDK.... but she was 3 miles from him
Then 1.5 weeks later, my wife notices a grinding, yep, metal on disc... I pull the wheels and see the grooved rotor, the NO BRAKE PAD LOL and the caliper is loose because they didn't tighten the bottom bolt, by about 3/16 of an inch... A lot of play and thats when I said I'm done with this guy.
We pulled the spare cover off and it wasn't even the same rim or tire size
**** I know all the things you are suppose to do and I went on the FULL SCALE "TRUST HIM" Mode and got royalty Effed.... LOL
Then the bigee, Dropped the #2 cylinder shortly after.
I am a competent guy, I work on all my late model vehicles, I work on all mine and my sons motorcycles as we love motocross etc... and I work on my boat... blah blah blah...
I am not the guy with computers who trouble shoots EFI systems, ABS systems and all the bells and whistles this thing comes with. LOL
I am laughing about it. It is what it is and I've moved on.... but 2 people on craigslist have asked me who in the Glendale/ Burbank area and I've shared his address and phone number and they've replied, "I just met that guy, thanks, I won't be buying a $4K-$5K vehicle from him... and I'm OK with that. Not honest, liar and said just call and I'll fix it. He stopped returning phone calls after
My wife puts on about 5K-7K miles a year to give you an idea of how little she drives

The interior is super rare and very desirable IMHO. The exterior color is also pretty rare and desirable IMHO. Factory brush guard and factory running boards add to the value as well, and the paint is suberb for the year. New tires, new engine, good value. I think you have it priced right. GLWS

If your truck were in better cosmetic shape with lower miles, you may have a $10k truck. But the dash and console are scratched and dirty, the passenger seat has a nasty *** stain and the exterior isn't all that nice. You could have at least vacuumed the floors and cleaned it. Pay to have it detailed and you'll get your asking price...maybe.
