2001 Discovery 2 SE - VA
2001 Land Rover Discovery 2 w/approximately 144K miles. I have owned this truck since 2010 and it has been a daily driver. Recently, a portion of the engine wiring harness contacted the exhaust manifold and burned. I had the wiring re-done, replaced alternator and battery. All good for a couple weeks, but today would not start (or even crank). Not sure what’s going on, but I promised myself I wasn’t going to put any more money into the truck.
Over the years I have spent a good deal of money on corrective and preventative maintenance, as well as upgrades. I have 9 years worth of service records on hand.
Regular oil, fluid, filter changes; newer spark plug wires and plugs
Recent new oil pan gasket and synthetic oil change
New(er) water pump
New(er) O2 sensors
Option B brake modulator mod with Falconworks hardware (corrects “three amigos” issue – have reset tool as well).
New(er) brake fluid reservoir.
Akebono brake pads
Extended stainless steel brake lines
2” Terrafirma lift kit and steering stabilizer
Tom Woods custom front drive shaft
Have a (used) rear drive shaft and new U-joints to perform conversion from rotoflex shaft (not installed.
Have an oil pan skid plate (not installed)
New hood blackout decal and several other decals including LAND ROVER lettering
Numerous spare bulbs, fuses, etc. All lights work.
Painted headliner
Tires in good shape
Brand new Land Rover floor mats - front, rear, car area
Brand new spare tire cover - Land Rover wolf desig
Dual sunroofs work well with zero leakage
Cold, working AC
Herculiner on bumpers - could use a re-application
Some fading of clear coat on roof, but overall paint and body work in good condition
No rust
Interior good to very good – tan leather
Recent (October 2020) VA state inspection sticker
Known issues:
Driver’s seat has a slight rock to it – check mounting bolts
Driver’s side seated heat may or may not be working
Truck does not lock - can be repaired (driver’s door mechanism)
Fog lamps have been removed (but have them – one has a short)
No interior panel on rear cargo door
Rear windshield wiper not working
This is a very solid truck. Plenty of life left but worth $$$’s if you’re just interested in parts. $2500. As-is, where is. Forest, VA.
