We just replaced the motor in our 2001 Discovery - the old one was overheated badly but the mechanic that took it out said it definately is rebuildable and it has all the goodies on it... injectors etc. There is 174,XXX miles on it... not looking to make a bunch of money off it...but if someone is out there that would be interested... let me know and we can talk about a price.
If no one wants it I'll probably pull the injectors and anything else usable and scrap the core... but would much rather have it go to someone for a project.

where are you located? It would be a fun father/son project for me and the oldest.

 

We are located in Wrenshall, Mn... that's about 20 miles south of Duluth. The engine is still at our mechanics which is right outside of Duluth. If you're really interested I can run up there tomorrow and snap a few photos if you'd like.
I don't know what shipping costs would be - obviously it's heavy as hell - I'm assuming it would ship freight... that's how our other one came.
