I'm on both sides of this fence. I do think he was hit pretty hard at the beginning, but his responses were pretty rough too.

Funny thing just happened, watching the local news talking about the snow, what drives right by the newscaster? A kalahari!
Are you SURE it was driving by and not being towed?

I'm glad I read all these posts...flippin' hilarious!!! Had to stay at the office a little longer just to read them all. Where's the OP with his new classified on this site?? I might email the CL listing and remind him that we are still here if he needs any help...

Agreed.

As previously stated, it really is a very nice looking specimen.

Somebody please tell me this is the same guy / vehicle?!:

**2002 Land Rover Discovery 2 Kalahari Edition Rare!!!**(TRADE!!!)

****Update: Sadly today 1/30/2014 the motor gave up the ghost....did not overheat but was pressurizing the cooling system.
The Rover still runs but will likely need a head gasket or a new motor. Spare motors are easy to find for around 2-3K$. This is a great truck and a one of a kind....Not looking to part it out as it is too nice of a vehicle. Fix the motor and you have a sweet rig. Looking for cash but may trade for equal value car or motorcycle.
Thanks and feel free to email me for questions.

RIP :-(

I found this thread amazingly funny...

I actually looked at this exact rig 5 years ago when I bought my current D2, and talked to the seller via email a month or so ago verifying that it's the same one. It's nice enough, or was 5 years ago.

Kalahari's are in fact rare, but as I used to remind people all the time in my car collector days, there's a huge difference between "rare" (2002 D2 Kalahari, 1 of 150) and "rare and valuable" (1963 Porsche Carrera 2, 1 of 247).

If I recall correctly, the asking price 5 years ago was $11,500 and it flunked my pre-buy inspection. It *definitely* flunked my wife's "you're not buying a taxi yellow truck!" inspection!

If I lived closer to this I'd look it over. If it's up to speed on maintenance, is it a good deal?
