2004 Land Rover Discovery II - For sale $900! - New England
I am creating this post to see if there is any interest at all in my Disco II.
First off this car has a REBUILT title. It was in a wreck. The previous owner and I brought it back to life. The body and frame seem fine to me. I have used this forum a lot to do work on the car and I thought I'd start here before going to craigslist or driving it to a junkyard. The truck has 160,000 miles on it and has gone from Florida to Pennsylvania to Arizona and back over the past year. I am currently located in Rhode Island and drive the car regularly.
Since 2018 I have replaced:
-new tires (130,000)
-water pump (130,000)
-alternator (130,000)
-sparkplugs, ignition coils, sparkplug wires (137,000)
-ignition barrel (and keys) (138,000)
-brake switch (140,000)
-thermostat (and the tubing and blow off valve that goes up above the radiator) (140,000)
-air filter & battery (140,000)
-rear bumper - Atlantic British steel bumper (141,000)
-rear brake pads (150,000)
-brake master cylinder (150,000)
I have also done a flush on all fluid (I did not "flush" the trans- drained and replaced)
I change the oil regularly between 3,000-5,000 miles with 5w-40 or 10w-40
I also painted the headliner white which looks acceptable
Things wrong with the car:
-LOTS of damage to plastic. The backseat windows are missing most of all of the plastic sheathing that cover the back part of them. Also cracking to front grill plastic. At one point an empty box flew off of a truck and hit the car and cracked the eyeliner below the front light
-Minor exhaust leak. This has been an issue the whole time I have had the car. I believe it is throwing an O2 sensor and making the car run rich. (you could probably replace O2 sensors if you wanted to - I never got that far)
-Missing a lug nut bolt (Super disappointed about this- someone tried to steal the tires off of the car and they broke the whole bolt off the car, they then gave up- You guys know how LR lug nuts are)
-Key does not work on driver door. The thief that tried to steal my tires also tried to break into my car. The pin that turns the lock with the key broke off. Idk how he did this but it has been a very annoying feature of the vehicle ever since.
-Passenger window regulator broken. I had replaced this at one point, but used a junk regulator with an already worn bearing. Its taped up.
-Minor rust around the sunroof. I have put tape over this. I have meant to bondo this but haven't decided what I want to do with the car.
-All of the doors are a bit janky. Some lock and unlock at there own volition when you press the unlock button. One of the backseat doors doesn't really open the whole way - I believe this is from the incident that earned its salvage title.
-AC doesn't work. I tried to add R-134. Didn't work.
I am on the East Coast now. I plan on driving to California for a new job at the end March. At that point I will buy a new car, sell the bumper, and drive the LR to a salvage yard.
Options to buy:
$900 OBO
I have posted it to craigslist.
If someone is interested in the bumper, I would like 300.00 and you gotta handle pickup or shipping.
I can post more pictures if requested. Let me know what you want to see.
I would love for someone to turn it into an off-road monster or use the cars for parts. Let me know!

Reason: location/tires/pictures/rebuilt title
Hello I may be interested in buying this from you. Can you please take more pictures of the undercarriage & frame. Maybe some interior picture also please... Particularly the last 3rd of frame tend to rot out. If in good shape i may just swap out parts from mine. Please also let me know where the truck is located? You said RI
