2004 Land Rover Discovery SE7
I am sadly selling my 2004 Land Rover Discovery SE7. It is my daily driver and has 145,600 as of 1/29/17 so mileage is subject to change. I'm needing to sell sooner rather than later to free up the cash for a car for my wife. I will not sell this to just someone. As you all know, it needs to go to someone who knows about the Lander Rover character. Clean Title in hand. Bought from local Land Rover mechanic in Memphis, TN. That being said, let's get into it.
Condition:
Let's be real, it is a 13 year vehicle and has the usual dings and scratches from that idiot that you vow never to park next to. It is also our weekend vehicle and has the usual trail wear and tear from camping and trailing. TRAILING not Muddin'. My wife enjoys camping and I enjoy hitting the trails and going exploring, which is why I selected a Land Rover. I removed the 3rd row seating simply because I have no use for 7 people (it is just my wife and myself and our two German Shepherds). The 2nd row seats are also removed for those rainy/stormy nights when camping, and also easier with the big dogs, and can easily be installed. Bought on 9/30/15 w/134,500 miles and have all the maintenance and repair records since I bought it.
The good:
-No leaks or squeaks
-Have taken it through exactly what it was designed to be put through and all working parts held up and got us through the trails and then back home.
-Just recently played in the snow and locking center dif worked great as well as all 4wd components.
-BFG All Terrains KO2 installed at purchase of vehicle
-Low profile steel front bumper w/LED flood lights (from Rovers North)
-Engine runs great; no issues
-Spark plugs and Coils replaced April 2016
-New Rotors and Pads Nov 2015
-New front Drive shaft October 2015
-Crank shaft seal, timing cover gasket, oil pan gasket, and water pump Nov 2015
The Bad:
-Tranny swap w/135k miles March 2016 - Took on the trails the weekend after with no issues
-Hit a deeper than expected rut on the trail which left the bottom part of the rear bumper on the passenger side with ~6in tear and also popped off the plastic piece on top of the bumper on the body. Just needs a new body mount.
-A/C is ok; heat works great
-The infamous 3 Amigos are on but with no issues-Replaced the Shuttle Valve Sensor by mechanic who I purchased from but, as verified by Bluff City Land Rover/Jaguar service manager, the circuit board needs to be replaced to completely solve the problem. The little Spanish friends have given me no problems since owning the vehicle, even on the trails, snow, rainy streets, all driving conditions.
I believe in open honesty and will not sell a vehicle without the buyer knowing the details about it as if I were going to buy the vehicle. The vehicle has been solid, just need to free myself up for as the repairs, that I knew were coming with the vehicle, added up too quickly and it would make my wife happy if we could free up the money instead of repairing vehicles again...and again. I am located outside of Memphis, TN and have a rather busy schedule w/Sunday/Monday being my off days. I can email more pictures of the vehicle upon request. Feel free to text 901-482-1988 (easiest way to contact in regards to my schedule and job) Asking $6000 OBO
