Default Disco 1 w/ rebuild bottom end engine

EDIT 2/2020: After listing this in 8/2019, I never ended up getting rid of it and now really need it gone. Since then I tried to get some of the problems it had last year sorted and made some progress and have updated the listing below accordingly. Price drop to $500. Lots of good parts here as below. I want it to go to a home that someone will make some use of given the time and parts that has gone into it. $500 is not much above wrecker pricing so if someone wanted to part out you could probably make some good money - I don't have the time or space.

Background: Originally from Canada but clean title in NJ. I have worked on almost every part of this car over the past 5-7 years and therefore have a pretty good sense of its state and tried to put as much as I can without any spin. Truck located in NJ (07869) - could talk about a short-distance delivery as well. More pictures available on request.

Pros:
Full bottom end rebuild done and minimal since (<5000 miles since) - purchased parts from Turner Engineering in UK and machine work done by Precision Motorworks in Seattle - installed new cylinder liners, machined block main journals and crank and installed +0.010 new main bearings and rod bearings, new cam, new timing chain, new cam bearings, new core plugs, block decked.
Includes 2 sets of heads - one was rebuild in 2015, the other is currently on the truck
Brakes (pads/rotors/calipers) were done a couple years back and lots of life on pads/rotors
Replaced alternator and starter ~2016 and has minimal use since
When engine was out cracked a AC line which was replaced - at this time replaced all o-rings and recharged (134a), blows cold
No driveline issues and fluids all replaced regularly (transfer case shifter works as intended last time I tried)
In tank fuel pump replaced along with fuel filter
Has recent plugs, 8mm wires, expansion tank, fan clutch and likely more parts I am not thinking of
New headliner in truck
Interior in decent condition for 23 year old vehicle

Cons:
- Was doing some work last year and ended up losing a bolt - apparently it fell on the fan and when I started it shot through the rad. Radiator was leaking but I fixed it with some epoxy and it has held for a few months without issue.
- truck runs poorly when cold. Haven't looked into why. If you give it throttle while cold it stalls. Once it it hot it runs and drive okay.
- Originally, When I did the bottom end rebuild, I put on ARB head studs and had nothing but problems. Retorqued a couple times and they kept leaking each time after a couple thousand miles. Eventually the head gasket went and I did the HG job (With original stretch bolts and swapped heads to rule out a head issue) One of the head bolt holes in block was helicoiled when re-doing the HG, expect issue from the torque on the studs.
- I am fairly sure I can hear a slight coolant tank hiss after truck is shut down but not all the time. No other symptoms of head gasket (overheating, coolant loss, etc) but I would not feel confident using as a daily driver without some diagnostics and work.
- Body looks in reasonably good condition but if you look close there is a reasonable amount of rust in the fender wells and under the floor on the drivers' side.
- Tires have good tread life but are at least 8 years old and the right DS tire has a slow leak (add air once a month or so).

Following this.
I'm at 07306. Don't know enough about rebuilds to see how I can take advantage of
your bottom end parts. Will look into it. Could use the brakes at some point.
Have you thought about offering to GT Auto Imports in Jersey City or British Auto Works in da Bronx?
They sometimes restore and resell Discoveries...good luck

Thanks for the reply. Will try and reach out but I expect the body is not in good enough shape for a restore at this point. Would be best for someone wanting for some good parts or to do a fix up and have it for a driver.

Bump for any interest at all - I need it gone and would prefer a bunch of $ in parts and time got put to some use and not just the wreckers.

Last attempt. Started it up for a minute today (as has no coolant), cranked over first try with its usual high idle (1300-1400 in park, drops to just under 1k in gear). Ran strong, brakes a little squishy.
Took some pics and tried to get most of the noticed rust spots.

Seat worn but no major rips, can't see well but has bluetooth head unit for stereo.

Rear seats good for age.

Alternator new, fan clutch new, stater new (can't see in pic), engine and heads recent rebuilt as mentioned in post

AC compressor o-rings replaced, blows cold air so confirmed working

Brakes squishy but work.

Wheel well body rust, frame looks decent to me.

Open to offers. If someone wanted to part it out, they could probably make some money. Unfortunately, I don't have the space...

In VA though right? Not sure if it would be worth the trip? Either way, good idea - reached out to him
