FS: 99' Disco II New York
i can get those kind of deals all day around here. these people just dealer service their cars and as soon as something major goes wrong they say screw it and go get a new one. we have 4 dealerships in about a 15 mile radius and EVERYONE drives Lr3's Lr4's or RR's anyone with a disco looks like they are driving a classic car (except me of course) i can bet 99% of them never saw a dirt road.
Hell I'll join a rover club this time around!!!
where are you finger lakes? i just picked one up and a guy is flying down from buffalo next sat to pick it up. PM me what you are looking for and your info.
Fellas, can we try to let this guy have his thread back? Let's at least be upfront with the guy.
Hey RWM3 - it sounds like you really would like to hang onto this truck. I don't blame you. It looks like a good one. These guys are acting this way because they are not taking you very seriously. I think that may be because your price is somewhat unrealistic for these trucks. No one buys them at book price. I'm not saying yours is at book price, but most realize that they can get them for about half what NADA or KBB says. If you want to move this thing quickly, then jump on some preventive maintenance (new crank position sensor, change all fluids, get the updated coolant hose, REBUILD FRONT DRIVESHAFT NOW, etc.). I might then lower the price to $5000 and go from there. Make your Disco stand out by not needing any major work or preventive maintenance for at least 3000 miles.
GLWS and hope you come back.

he had a chance at having his own thread. he blew it on page 1. i told him his truck wasnt worth what he was asking. honestly most i would give him would be $1,500. WAIT did you hear that? who is there? oh its head gaskets are knocking on the door....
The whole point of forums is to help people out and you havent one bit. So forget harassing me in this thread and move on
In RWM3's defense, he does probably need the cash (I don't know your financial situation, and would rather not insult you by assuming) for all the erroneous baby stuff. We just had our first a little bit ago, and it wasn't cheap by ANY means. BUT, at the same time (before I get attacked), the price is a little steep, even for out here on the west coast. In Las Vegas (where I'm at) the average price for one is ~$4000 even with 150k+ miles on it. But at the same time, I can go get a LR3/4 USED with around 80k (people drive ALOT out here ... as in live in Vegas because it's cheap and commute to Los Angeles for work). I digress, the LR3/4 USED I can get for $7k (ish). So even when us west-coasters start cringing at the price, then it might be a little steep.
Hell, if you rebuilt the front driveshaft, I'd give you $3k for it. I'll fly my happy butt out there and drive it back.

im not harassing you. you highballed a price that i have not even seen a used car dealer charge. so I came back with a counter offer which happened to be a low ball.
If you honestly need to sell it then you need to come down. In all honesty I would take Pirate up on his $3k and call it a day.
It can be hard selling a truck like one of these especially if you do a lot of your own work and put the effort in, but in reality your work and effort mean nothing when people can get the same product for half the price or less.
i will leave you alone now, best of luck with the sale.

Wait! I wouldn't get it mainly because I'm in the market for a Disco I. Granted, for the wife, she would be more than happy with a II, but I'd rather her have something with a little better track record of reliability.
Now, to stop thread hijacking ... onwards with the sale!
