Default FS - Land Rover Defender 110!

Hi everyone...

Currently have a 110 for sale that went up on ebay today. Please check it out and good luck bidding. It's a great project car where a lot of the nitty gritty has already been done.

Land Rover 110 Defender Station Wagon Galvanised Chassis 1984 LHD | eBay

Also have another 110 in better condition available that has yet to go on eBay. PM for more details...

Cheers!

A galvanized chassis won't make it past customs unfortunately.

Not to mention the 200 tdi and left hand drive conversion. Definitely not importable like that.

Only way a us buyer will bid is if they know nothing about rovers, this will be impounded at customs and dismantled and the buyer gets to pay all those fees then when they deem it contraband buyer gets to pay for it to be destroyed

Customs has a hard on for land rovers for some reason

the current US owner probably told them to sell it because after screw around for 2-years he found out he couldn't import it.

Just curious here, why does customs have such a problem with the galvanized chassis?

Because sometimes people make laws/regulations about things they have no knowledge about.

They suggest that it could be VIN tampering.

It's not just the chassis...

I'll try to find the article I once read about what it takes to import a Defender.

Long story short, IIRC, you basically need to import 3 vehicles, one for yourself and 2 duplicates for NHSTA (crash) testing, along with paying for a bunch of other (IMO) extraneous expenses.

Not worth the hassle.

Not in this case. If it's 25 years or older you can import it. But it has to be pretty much original condition. Or they'll pretend they think it's stolen.
